//Odyssey - Alumni Information System with Interactive Media

What?

Odyssey was a project to smartly collect all the profile data of the Alumni and design a system that would be interactive as well as informative at the same time. After rigorous usability studies and user testing a clean, logical and creative user interface was ideated, The system has been designed to be a framework and can easily be reused for the following years.

Why?

The Alumni information systems in place were not keenly designed - lot of space lost. as well as it didn't capture the user's attention. The data collection mechanism was rather obsolete and required a lot of manual cleanup. The media such as videos and photos were not interactive and moreover the whole system was not generic - hence requiring every year to develop a new system. A rock solid framework was needed that could be a cross between a CMS and an Interactive Experience.

How?

Usability studies were conducted and online forms were designed. Code was written for automatic rendering of pages from the information in the database. A sleek Photo Carousel gallery was made in Flash. A video player was designed and coded in Flash to play the interactive videos. A custom browser was designed to view the content.

And..

Odyssey is distributed in a CD media to almost 500+ graduates every year.
